Recently, the 2025 International Smart Mobility, Automotive Modification, and Automotive Service Industry Eco-Expo kicked off at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. Synland, a subsidiary of CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited), unveiled its Kunshi chassis commercial vehicle eco-solution aimed at efficient logistics scenarios. The solution is dedicated to providing the light truck industry with electric chassis products featuring long range, long warranty, fast charging, and strong overload capacity, fostering a new ecosystem of co-creation and mutual benefits.
Founded in October 2021 with a registered capital of 2.5 billion RMB, Synland focuses on the R&D and production of new energy commercial vehicle skateboard chassis and components. Leveraging CATL's battery resources and Synland's advanced chassis design and integration capabilities, Synland has created highly efficient and reliable commercial skateboard chassis.
At the press conference, Liu Minghui, Chief Engineer of CATL's Powertrain Division, stated that CATL will continue to fully support Synland's development in technology R&D, market expansion, and talent cultivation.
With the explosive growth of the new energy light truck market, high energy consumption at high speeds, short driving range, and the heavy weight of large battery-powered light trucks affecting cargo efficiency have become significant pain points for users. Synland addresses these issues with the Kunshi chassis solution, adopting the innovative "1+3+1" architecture, which includes the Qiankun architecture, Tianqing powertrain, and multi-source heat pump intelligent temperature control technology. This increases the range of light trucks equipped with the Kunshi chassis by 20%. Specifically, the Kunshi 140E version's range can rival industry-level 168kWh battery range. Additionally, the Kunshi chassis provides long warranties for the core three electric components, ensuring long-term, efficient operation.
The Kunshi chassis adopts an open model of "scene genes + car-making wisdom + dynamic architecture," bringing ecosystem partners together for long-term development and mutual benefits.
For upstream suppliers, Synland’s open architecture reduces customization development, lowering production costs;
For OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), Synland's solution enhances product competitiveness and boosts market pricing potential;
At the event, Synland reached strategic development cooperation agreements with OEMs like FAW Jiefang Qingdao Automotive Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Automobile Group Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., and Qingling Motors Co., Ltd.
Synland also signed strategic promotion orders with operational partners, including Ground Iron Car Rental (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., New Hope Body Power Technology Co., Ltd., and Oulu (Shenzhen) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., totaling over 16,000 units.
This launch and collaboration mark an important step in CATL’s strategy within the new energy commercial vehicle sector. By creating an open cooperative model through "scene genes + car-making wisdom + dynamic architecture," Synland aims to co-create the Kunshi ecosystem with its partners, significantly advancing the electrification of commercial vehicles and improving operational efficiency for C-end operators. In the future, CATL, through its subsidiaries, will continue to provide high-value innovative products to industry partners, building a new ecosystem for commercial vehicles based on co-creation and mutual benefits.
