· Sungrow Teams Up with KTISTOR Energy for the First Installation of PowerTitan 2.0 in Greece
· Four Key Energy Storage Projects in Northern and Central Greece, with a Combined Capacity of 105 MWh
· Deployment Scheduled for Summer 2025
Athens, Greece, December 16, 2024 – Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with KTISTOR Energy for the deployment of its state-of-the-art PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Greece. KTISTOR Energy, a prominent construction company with expertise in renewable energy projects, will oversee the implementation of these innovative energy storage systems across four key locations in Northern and Central Greece. This collaboration marks the first use of the PowerTitan 2.0 in Greece and will play a crucial role in bolstering the country's grid stability while supporting its renewable energy transition goals.
The four energy storage projects covered by this agreement will be spread across the Greek regions of Northern and Central Greece. Two of the projects will be operated under the country’s ESS Tender scheme, while the other two will participate in the free market. The projects include:
· Dokos Project in Rodopi: 8.875 MW capacity for 2 hours, with an initial usable storage capacity of 25.065 MWh.
· Petra Project in Kozani: 7.8 MW capacity for 2 hours, offering an initial usable storage capacity of 20.055 MWh.
· Agia Anna Project in Viotia: 7.8 MW capacity for 3 hours, with an initial usable storage capacity of 30.09 MWh.
· Agia Anna II Project in Viotia: 7.8 MW capacity for 3 hours, with an initial usable storage capacity of 30.09 MWh.
In total, these projects will feature a combined energy storage capacity of 105 MWh, powered by Sungrow’s advanced PowerTitan 2.0 BESS. The delivery of the energy storage systems is scheduled for the summer of 2025, demonstrating Sungrow’s capacity for quick and efficient logistics in meeting customer demands for customized energy storage solutions.
The PowerTitan 2.0 is designed for grid-forming applications, offering superior flexibility, resilience, and efficiency. With its liquid-cooled technology, the system ensures optimal thermal management, prolonging the lifespan of the equipment and reducing operating costs. Additionally, the system’s smart AC-DC block architecture facilitates rapid deployment and seamless adaptation to projects of varying scales. Sungrow's extensive experience in energy storage positions the company as a key enabler of the global transition to renewable energy.
