Three Gorges Binhai Energy Storage Project Achieves Full Capacity Grid Connection

The Three Gorges Binhai Energy Storage Project is currently the largest string-type energy storage power station in China. As the core equipment supplier for this project, Haitron Energy has provided advanced energy storage battery solutions, ensuring efficient and reliable operation for the client with high safety standards.

The Binhai Energy Storage Power Station is planned with a total installed capacity of 200MW/400MWh and is located in the Binhai Port Industrial Park, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. It is one of the first batch of grid-side energy storage projects included in Jiangsu Province's power planning and a key new energy storage project in the Jiangsu coastal area. Once completed, this project will independently participate in grid frequency regulation and peak shaving, providing robust support for improving the adjustment capability of Jiangsu's power system, enhancing the consumption of renewable energy, and ensuring power supply during peak summer periods.

In response to the project's requirements, Haitron Energy has provided its self-developed next-generation 314Ah energy storage battery solutions. This product, utilizing advanced materials and manufacturing processes, offers a cycle life of up to 11,000 cycles. With high-performance features such as long cycle life, intrinsic safety, and increased energy density, this battery solution ensures better consistency, higher system efficiency, and lower levelized cost of electricity for the customer's energy storage system. It provides reliable support for improving local energy utilization efficiency, enhancing power quality, and ensuring the safe operation of the grid.

String-type electrochemical energy storage technology participates in grid peak shaving with its flexible power regulation and rapid adjustment characteristics. It not only effectively alleviates grid pressure and reduces grid control complexity but also significantly reduces coal consumption and emissions of harmful gases such as carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide, offering notable environmental and ecological benefits.
