On July 17, according to the "Jinlong Lake release" news, Xuzhou Economic Development Zone promoted a number of major industrial projects to accelerate the production capacity climb and achieve full production as soon as possible. One of them is the BYD blade battery project.

Byd Xuzhou blade battery project with a total investment of 10 billion yuan, of which the first phase investment of 5 billion yuan, the construction of blade battery production line, an annual output of 15GWh power battery, mainly for Xugong commercial vehicles, construction machinery and other brands of passenger cars to provide power batteries.

It is understood that the total investment of the project is 10 billion yuan, the construction area of 330,000 square meters, of which the first phase of investment is 5 billion yuan, the purchase of coating machine, roll cutting machine, laminating machine and other production equipment 300 sets, the construction of blade battery production line, the annual output of power battery 15GWh, mainly for Xu industrial and commercial vehicles, construction machinery and other brands of passenger cars to provide power batteries.

The project will achieve revenue of more than 10 billion yuan after the completion of the project. At present, the plant and supporting facilities have been completed, the first production line through, is expected to achieve in October all through the production line. Since the release of blade batteries in 2020, BYD has entered a new era. Based on the huge market demand, BYD in recent years has laid out Qinghai Xining, Huizhou, Shenzhen Pingshan, Chongqing Bishan, Xi 'an, Chuzhou, Yancheng Sheyang, Jiangxi Fuzhou, Zhejiang Shaoxing and other production bases, with a total capacity of more than 430GWh. The operation of Xuzhou blade battery factory has further improved BYD's production capacity and laid the foundation for future "external supply". Since 2024, BYD blade batteries have been recognized by domestic and foreign head customers, and have reached cooperation with Xiaomi Automobile, NIO and other car companies, and the scale of foreign supply business has been ready to start.
